Which settings files are used?

SpeedCommander’s settings are stored in several files.

SpeedCommander 22 and newer

  1. The SpeedCommander.xml file is the most important settings file. Almost all settings are stored in it. Each time SpeedCommander is started, it creates a backup in SpeedCommander-backup.xml.
  2. The SpeedCommander.ini file stores the settings found in the Settings dialog on the Advanced – Tweaks page.
  3. SpeedCommander.cfb stores the customized keyboard shortcuts and toolbars.
  4. The file Macros.spml contains all created macros.
  5. The settings of SC Backup & Restore are stored in SCBackupRestore.ini.

SpeedCommander 21 and older

  1. The file SpeedCommander.xml is the most important settings file. Almost all settings are stored in it. Each time SpeedCommander is started, it creates a backup in SpeedCommander-backup.xml.
  2. The SpeedCommander.ini file stores the settings found in the settings dialog on the Advanced – Tweaks page.
  3. SpeedCommander.bin stores the customized keyboard shortcuts.
  4. The customized toolbars are stored in the files SpeedCommander.tkp, FileSearch.tkp, FileSync.tkp, SpeedEdit.tkp, and SpeedView.tkp.
  5. The file Macros.spm contains all created macros.
  6. The settings of SC Backup & Restore are stored in SCBackupRestore.ini.
