Which settings files are used?
SpeedCommander’s settings are stored in several files.
SpeedCommander 22 and newer
- The SpeedCommander.xml file is the most important settings file. Almost all settings are stored in it. Each time SpeedCommander is started, it creates a backup in SpeedCommander-backup.xml.
- The SpeedCommander.ini file stores the settings found in the Settings dialog on the Advanced – Tweaks page.
- SpeedCommander.cfb stores the customized keyboard shortcuts and toolbars.
- The file Macros.spml contains all created macros.
- The settings of SC Backup & Restore are stored in SCBackupRestore.ini.
SpeedCommander 21 and older
- The file SpeedCommander.xml is the most important settings file. Almost all settings are stored in it. Each time SpeedCommander is started, it creates a backup in SpeedCommander-backup.xml.
- The SpeedCommander.ini file stores the settings found in the settings dialog on the Advanced – Tweaks page.
- SpeedCommander.bin stores the customized keyboard shortcuts.
- The customized toolbars are stored in the files SpeedCommander.tkp, FileSearch.tkp, FileSync.tkp, SpeedEdit.tkp, and SpeedView.tkp.
- The file Macros.spm contains all created macros.
- The settings of SC Backup & Restore are stored in SCBackupRestore.ini.
